Losing My Hair

They didn’t say it was going to be easy.

I knew from the very beginning I was going to lose my hair. Even though I cut my hair short in preparation, there is no way to fully prepare for the devastation when it actually happens. I wanted to have a few haircuts before it all fell out but in the end this wasn’t an option.

I didn’t think it was going to bother me but I was wrong. Losing my hair was a physical change that reminded me of how little control I have over my body.
